Security
Your patients' information, handled carefully.
Pulse holds patient-level records so it can show schedules, balances and call lists. This page says plainly what is copied, how it is protected and who can see it.
In your office
A reader, not a remote control.
It only reads
The Pulse agent reads from your practice system. It does not write, edit or delete anything there.
It calls out; nothing calls in
The agent starts every connection itself. You do not open any ports or allow remote access into the office.
A fixed list of tables
The agent copies a named list of tables and columns, covering appointments, procedures, payments, claims, patients and the audit trail. It does not copy the whole database.
In Pulse
Protected, separated, and visible to the right people.
Encrypted on the way and at rest
Data travels over an encrypted connection and each request is signed, so it cannot be altered or replayed on the way. It is stored encrypted.
Each practice kept separate
Every record is tagged to your organization, and every page asks only for your organization's records.
Access by role
Team members sign in with their own account. Staff activity, raw data previews, goals and report schedules are limited to owners and admins.
Patient lists stay out of email
Scheduled reports that list patients email the totals and a link. The list itself stays behind sign-in.
Nothing is silently lost
When a record is deleted in your practice system, Pulse marks it as removed and keeps a note of when. The Data Sync page shows record counts on both sides.
HIPAA
Agreements come before data.
Because Pulse stores patient information on your behalf, a Business Associate Agreement is put in place with your practice before any of your data is synced.
If your compliance officer or IT provider has questions about where data is stored, who our providers are, or how access is logged, ask us during your demo and we will answer in writing.
Questions about your data?
Bring them to the demo, or bring your IT provider. We would rather answer everything up front.
